The Formconcrete project is kicked off with the two-dimensional sketching of the desired visual theme. This first phase concept can be created by a planner, e.g. an architect, manufacturer or alternatively by Formconcrete Ltd creatives. The selected options for the designs are turned from two-dimensional sketches into three-dimensional models with CAD application software. This utilizes parametric 3D-modelling that is quantified according to the Formconcrete technique. The 3D-models are rendered to have the desired visual qualities of concrete. These models are possible to view with various orientations and in various lighting conditions. 3D-models are also a useful tool to test “the big picture”, i.e. the building site as a hole or to test different design variations. When the optimal version of visuals is found, the modelling data is turned into the data for tooling manufacture. 
Manufacturing plants are acquainted to the Formconcrete technique by technology training. This introduction to the manufacturing process can be online training or a coaching session that is held on site at the plant. When the training session occurs at the manufacturing plant, it also gives a possibility to manufacture a test element as an introduction to the technique.
